KUPWARA, OCTOBER 15:
Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) in collaboration with District Administration Kupwara Tuesday conducted a sensitization workshop under J&K Startup Policy 2024 at Main Meeting Hall of D.C Office Kupwara.
The Workshop which was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara, Mohd Rouf Rehman, saw participation of officers and officials of various government departments, besides, young entrepreneurs from district Kupwara.
The workshop, specifically designed for government departments, seeks to enhance understanding and implementation of startup friendly policies along with facilitating a conducive startup ecosystem in the district.
Addressing the workshop, the ADC emphasized the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in addressing major challenges like unemployment crisis. He impressed upon the concerned departments to extend their helping hand to the budding entrepreneurs in the district so that they can materialise their potential which will further boost the employment generation. He asked them to involve more and more youth in the district so that the trend of job seeking gets changed into job giving.
On the occasion, District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Kupwara, Arif Ahmad Khan gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation and gave awareness to the participants about various startup initiatives of the Government in nurturing the entrepreneurship in the J&K UT.
During the workshop, special emphasis were put on the need for collaboration from all the stakeholders including line departments for proper handholding and necessary support to the budding entrepreneurs in the district.
The event featured a series of presentations and interactive sessions led by officials of JKEDI. The discussions focused on key aspects of the startup ecosystem including funding opportunities, regulatory frameworks and the role of government in fostering a supportive environment for startups.
