Srinagar: The city of Srinagar was enveloped in an atmosphere of devotion and reverence as thousands of faithful gathered at the Khanyar shrine to observe the ‘Friday following’ Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA). This annual Urs, which holds deep spiritual significance for devotees, is a cherished tradition that celebrates the life and teachings of the revered saint, known for his piety, wisdom, and miracles.
The day began early as the streets leading to the shrine were filled with throngs of men, women, and children. Many had traveled from distant parts of the region to pay their respects and participate in the special prayers.
