The day began early as the streets leading to the shrine were filled with throngs of men, women, and children. Many had traveled from distant parts of the region to pay their respects and participate in the special prayers. With hearts full of devotion, they gathered to seek blessings and forgiveness, reciting Quranic verses and offering collective prayers in unison. The sound of prayers filled the air, creating a serene and spiritual atmosphere.

One of the most moving moments of the Urs was the display of the holy relic of Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA). As the relic was revealed, the crowd erupted in emotional cries of joy and reverence, with many seen wiping away tears as they raised their hands in prayer. For the devotees, this was not only a moment of spiritual connection but also a time to reflect on their faith and seek guidance from the saint, whose legacy has inspired millions across generations.

“This is a time of renewal of faith,” said one devotee. “We come here every year to remember the teachings of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA), to ask for his intercession, and to feel the peace that this place offers.”

The Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) is one of the most important religious events in the Valley, observed with immense zeal and devotion. It serves as a reminder of the saint’s profound impact on Islamic spirituality, especially within the Sufi tradition, where his teachings of love, humility, and service to humanity continue to resonate.

Authorities had made extensive arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Urs, including heightened security measures and special provisions to ensure the comfort of the attendees. Water and medical facilities were made available, while volunteers worked tirelessly to manage the large crowds with discipline and care.

The annual Urs not only draws thousands of devotees but also serves as a communal gathering where people come together to celebrate their shared faith. It is a time of reflection, prayer, and devotion, providing a sense of peace and spiritual fulfillment for all who attend.
