Kangan: Class IV employees of the Power Development Corporation (PDC) in the Kangan sub-division have been staging protests after three months of unpaid salaries. The employees allege that Executive Engineer Parvaiz Naikoo has withheld their salaries without any formal order or valid reason, despite appeals from local authorities.

Honorable Member of Parliament Mian Altaf, his son and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kangan Mian Mehar Ali, as well as the Managing Director and Chief Engineer of PDC have intervened, but Naikoo has remained firm in his decision.

Naikoo, however, defended his stance by pointing to a significant issue of encroachment on PDC land. According to him, over 1,000 walnut trees had been marked for auction, yet he alleges that certain employees, along with Assistant Executive Engineers, sold trees for personal profit during his absence due to election duties.

Naikoo stated that he would only release the withheld salaries if the employees submit a written statement promising not to repeat their actions. “There is a serious encroachment issue, and accountability is paramount,” he emphasized.
