Ganderbal: The teaching, non-teaching staff and students of government degree college, Ganderbal expressed heartfelt condolences with Prof Aijaz Ahmad Qureshi, senior assistant professor of the College over the demise of his father Professor Abdul Wahid Qureshi, former Vice Chancellor of University of Kashmir and Central University of Kashmir, who passed away here on Sunday morning.
A condolence meeting was held today in the conference hall of the college in which all the teaching, non-teaching staff members and students of various semesters of the college participated.
Principal of the college, Prof Fouzia Fatima conveyed heartfelt sympathies and condolences with the bereaved family and said that all the staff members and students of the college stand with the bereaved family in this hour of grief.
The principal described Prof Wahid Qureshi as a visionary academic leader who not only excelled in his field but also motivated others to strive for excellence and as a person of par excellence, who dedicated his life towards taking education to new heights and also one of the greatest economists of Jammu and Kashmir.
Late Prof. Qureshi was a distinguished academic leader and visionary, who dedicated his life to advancing education and fostering excellence.
She further said that Prof. Wahid Qureshi’s teachings will continue to inspire students and professionals to improve the educational scenario in Jammu and Kashmir as late Prof. Wahid Qureshi was a beacon of knowledge and inspiration for the academic world.
Special prayer was made for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace, in the highest echelons of Jannat-ul-Firdous, and grant patience and forbearance to the bereaved family members to bear this unbearable and inconsolable loss with courage and fortitude.
