Locals told VOI that they have got the tap water for the first time and thanked administration for providing water to the remote village, stating they have been relieved of the concerns about quality of drinking water.

A local said, “We have gone through many difficulties but today seeing water arriving here is nothing less than a dream come true for us.”

“Prior to the water supply scheme, villagers were forced to fetch water from polluted streams, leading to waterborne diseases and health concerns”, another local said.

The villagers collectively praised the district Administration’s commitment, acknowledging that without their intervention, their dream of accessing safe drinking water might never have been realized.

Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Jal Shakti department, Qazigund Rafiq Ahmad said that they have provided potable water to every household under JJM scheme as this was a long-pending demand of the villagers, adding villagers are happy as they received potable drinking water for the first.
