Mega Awareness camp cum Loan Mela was organized by JKWDC at Women Degree College, Batpora Srinagar

Srinagar:In order to sensitize women beneficiaries about the benefits of the schemes being implemented by Jammu & Kashmir Women’s development Corporation (JKWDC), A Mega Awareness camp cum Loan Mela was organized today at Women Degree Collage, Batpora Srinagar.

This Camp was sponsored by MS National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation, (Ministry of Minorities Affairs, Government of India).

Camp attended by the representatives of different department viz DSWO, CDPO, JKWDC, Women College Batpora, LIC, Handicrafts, In charge 108 Women help line, representatives from local NGOs, SHG members etc. More than 400 women attended the camp. Schemes Implemented by the JKWDC especially through MS National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation, (Ministry of Minorities Affairs, Government of India) stands highlighted and briefed with the participants. Print material about these schemes stands distributed among the participants in the camp.

District Manger WDC, Tahir Parvez highlighted various activities and achievements of JKWDC which has immensely contributes towards the empowerment of women. He laid thrust on the importance of different viable activities and its market availability through the exhibitions organized by JKWDC both inside and outside the states.

Tahir Parvez (DM) requested the women to come forward and avail the benefits of the schemes of JKWDC for their self-reliance.

He also talked about the rights of women, health and Nutrition, Female feticide and other related schemes like Bati bachao Beti Padao, Marriage Assistance scheme, Skill development etc .DM also distributed 43 application forms among desired applicants under different schemes.

Camp was also attended by many potential beneficiaries recently financed through NMDFC scheme who shared their experience with the participants and exhibit their products in a mini exhibition organized on the occasion.

Mr Bilal Ahmad, Social Activities briefed about the purpose of setting women clusters / clubs in the district and ask beneficiaries of WDC for link with these clubs for better output. He also highlighted the role of 108 help line.

Chairperson Sun Flower society helped JKWDC for organizing said event and provided live demo of Kashmir art items prepared by different members through the support of NMDFC.

Finally, District Manager distributed award in favor of the filed functionaries of JKWDC for effecting recoveries from the beneficiaries. Award for best recoveries stands also given to many potential beneficiaries during the event.
