Bandipora, Feb 7: On the directions of MLA Bandipora, Nizamuddin Bhat, a team from the MLA office visited Larwalpora to inspect the ongoing construction of a vital road connecting the area with the rest of Bandipora. The project, undertaken at an estimated cost of ₹3.10 crore, is crucial for local connectivity.

During the inspection, the team discovered that the material used for construction was of substandard quality, raising serious concerns about the road’s durability and safety. Reports suggest that the road is already in poor condition, making it nearly impossible for people to walk on.

Taking immediate action, MLA Nizamuddin Bhat raised the issue with PMGSY authorities, including the Executive Engineer (Xen), demanding an explanation for the substandard construction. He urged the concerned department to rectify the issue without delay to prevent further suffering for residents.

“The people of this area should not face hardships due to negligence. The road must be built using quality materials to ensure long-term sustainability,” he asserted, calling for swift action from the authorities.

Local residents have also expressed their frustration, urging the administration to intervene and ensure proper execution of the project. The matter is now under review, and further developments are expected soon.
