Officials confirmed that legal proceedings have been initiated against the offenders involved. The action reflects Ganderbal Police’s unwavering commitment to curbing the unlawful exploitation of mineral resources and sending a stern message to those engaged in such practices.

“District Police Ganderbal, in close coordination with the Geology and Mining Department, is taking all necessary steps to put an end to illegal mining. Strict action under law will be taken against violators,” a police spokesperson said.

Police also urged the public to play their part in protecting the environment by reporting any illegal mining activities in their vicinity. Ganderbal Police assured that the identity of informers will be kept confidential and promised strict legal action against offenders.

This operation stands as a strong warning to illegal miners and transporters that Ganderbal Police will continue its efforts to protect the district’s natural resources.
