The crackdown, conducted under the supervision of Shahnawaz Ahmad Shah, Chief Agriculture Officer Ganderbal, was based on specific intelligence inputs and executed in coordination with the Enforcement Wing and other officials.

Following the seizure, the concerned shop owners were served show-cause notices, and officials reaffirmed that strict action would be taken against those selling misbranded or substandard agricultural inputs, which threaten farmers’ livelihoods and crop yields. The investigation is ongoing and will be prosecuted in a court of law.

This action aligns with the directives of the Director of Agriculture Kashmir, who has deployed zone-wise teams to monitor the sale of agricultural inputs across the district.

During the operation, the Chief Agriculture Officer urged farmers to demand testing reports and licenses before purchasing agricultural products. Farmers have also been advised to report suspicious fertilizers or sales activities to the Law Enforcement Inspector Ganderbal.

The enforcement action witnessed the presence of District Agriculture Officer (Extension) Ganderbal, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Ganderbal, and other officials.

This decisive move highlights the department’s commitment to ensuring that only genuine and high-quality agricultural inputs reach the farming community(SM).
