Ganderbal, April 8: Senior BJP leader and former district president of BJP Ganderbal, Mohammad Amin Shah, has urged the Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor- Led administration to take immediate steps to develop playgrounds in Kangan and Ganderbal, emphasizing that state land is available for the purpose. He highlighted the lack of adequate sports infrastructure in the district, which is affecting the youth’s engagement in physical activities and sports development. This call aligns with previous community demands, from residents of different areas of Kangan and Ganderbal, who have expressed concerns over inadequate sports facilities and the encroachment of state land designated for playgrounds.
Shah also reiterated the demand for the establishment of a sports university in Ganderbal, which had been previously proposed by the government. He pointed out that land for the university has already been earmarked at Gadoora, Ganderbal, and urged the administration to expedite the process for its construction. The university, once established, would serve as a significant hub for sports education and training in the region.
In addition to sports infrastructure, Shah also stressed the urgent need for a women’s college in Ganderbal. He stated that the absence of a dedicated higher education institution for women forces many female students to travel long distances for their studies, discouraging many from continuing their education. Setting up a women’s college, he asserted, would enhance educational opportunities for young women and contribute to their empowerment.
These appeals resonate with ongoing community efforts to improve local infrastructure and educational facilities. For instance, during a public outreach progra residents advocated for the development of playgrounds and augmentation of educational infrastructure, reflecting a collective desire for comprehensive development in Ganderbal. Mohammad Amin Shah appealed to the Lieutenant Governor-led administration to take swift action on these crucial demands to support the youth and women of Ganderbal. He emphasized that investing in sports and education would play a pivotal role in the overall development of the district, fostering talent and promoting growth in various sectors.
The demand for improved educational and sports facilities in Ganderbal has been a long-standing issue, and Shah’s appeal highlights the growing need for government intervention to address these concerns for the betterment of the community. The former BJP district president’s appeal seeks to catalyze governmental action to address these critical needs, fostering a more conducive environment for youth development and women’s education in Ganderbal.
