Kulgam Police organises awareness programme on “Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan” at GDC Kulgam

Kulgam, April 17: With an objective to educate students about the risks associated with substance abuse and its consequences and encourage them to adopt healthy habits; Kulgam police under the aegis of Civic Action programme (CAP)-2024-25, in collaboration with Government Degree College Kulgam conducted an awareness programme on Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan.

The programme was attended by Senior officers of Kulgam Police Including Addl SP NHW Qazigund Shri Mumtaz Ali Bhatti-JKPS, DySP DAR Kulgam Shri Mohd Ayoub Rather, Professors, Lecturers, students and other participants.

During the event, officers emphasized the need to protect the young generation from the menace of drug abuse, highlighted its devastating impact on individuals and society. Also stressed the importance of youths staying drug free and propagating the ill effects of drugs to the society thereby ensuring a Nasha Mukht Bharat.

Debate competition was held wherein the participants shared their perspectives, views, assumptions and explored concrete solutions to the complex, challenging and pressing issue of drug abuse that threatens the very fabric of our society.

The initiative demonstrates commitment of Kulgam Police to eradicate drug abuse and promoting a safer, healthier community. Participants thanked Kulgam police for conducting such awareness programme, thus building a bridge of trust between police and the youth.

At the conclusion, first three position holders were awarded with mementos and an appreciation certificate. Besides, participation certificates were also distributed among all the participants (PR).
