It is pertinent to mention that Haseena Begum has a history of involvement in multiple NDPS-related FIRs registered across various police stations in the valley. She has reportedly played a key role in smuggling narcotics from South to North Kashmir, contributing to the drug menace among the youth in the region.

During the search, approximately 1.7 kg of a Charas-like substance was recovered from the trio. Preliminary inquiry revealed that the accused were engaged in illicit drug trafficking for petty monetary gains.

In this regard, FIR No. 111/2025 under Sections 8/20-29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kupwara, and further investigation has been initiated.

Kupwara Police reiterates its firm commitment to eradicating drug-related activities and urges the public to share any information related to drug trafficking. All shared information will be kept strictly confidential (PR).
