Tral, June 2: Socio-political activist and DDC member from Tral, Dr. Harbaksh Singh, extended warm greetings to the people on the eve of Urs Shah-e-Hamdan (RA) and Mela Kheer Bhawani, both of which are being observed on June 3.
In his message, Dr. Harbaksh Singh urged the administration to ensure the availability of all essential facilities for the devotees and general public during these significant religious occasions.
Highlighting the importance of uninterrupted basic services, he appealed for adequate power and water supply in the concerned areas. He also emphasized the need for timely availability of ration supplies, especially in view of the upcoming Eid celebrations.
The Urs of Shah-e-Hamdan (RA), a revered Sufi saint, is celebrated annually at Khankah-e-Faizpanah in Tral. Thousands of devotees, including men, women, and children, throng the shrine to offer prayers and participate in religious rituals. The holy relics of Hazrat Ameer Kabeer (RA) are displayed after each prayer, offering devotees a moment of spiritual reverence.
Simultaneously, the annual Kheer Bhawani Mela—one of the festivals of the Kashmiri Pandit community—is set to be held at Kheer Bhawani temple in Tulmulla, located in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. The festival sees participation from devotees across the country.
