PRINCIPAL DISTRICT & SESSIONS JUDGE PULWAMA VISITS AWANTIPORA COURT COMPLEX

Awantipora, May 11, 2025: Principal District & Sessions Judge Pulwama, Malik Shabir Ahmad, today visited the Court Complex Awantipora on his maiden visit. The visit was part of a review meeting organized by the Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Awantipora in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Pulwama.

During the visit, Malik Shabir  Ahmad, who is also the Chairman of DLSA Pulwama , reviewed the overall working and functioning of the TLSC Awantipora, with special reference to the Panel Lawyers and Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs). He lauded the role of TLSC Awantipora, including the Panel Lawyers and PLVs, in providing legal services to the marginalized sections of the society.

The review meeting was also attended by Mr. Mudasar Farooq, Secretary/Sub-Judge DLSA Pulwama, who briefed the gathering about the Legal Services Act 1987 and its various provisions. He emphasized the need for creating awareness among the beneficiaries about the legal services available to them.

Other speakers who addressed the gathering included Adv. Basharat Shaheen, President Bar Association Awantipora, Adv. Bhat Wahid, Panel Lawyer TLSC, Bashir Ahmad Kuchay, PLV TLSC, and Ms. Rukhsana, APP Awantipora.

Later, Malik Shabir Ahmad, along with other civil and police officers, visited the proposed site for the construction of the new Court Complex Awantipora.

The visit was a significant step towards strengthening the legal services infrastructure in the district and ensuring that justice is delivered to all sections of the society.
