Tral, August 21, 2025: Amrit Charitable Trust, in collaboration with the Kochhar Foundation, today distributed 200 school bags and 120 stationery kits to meritorious and deserving students at Government Middle School Overigund and Government High School in Lalpora Tral.

This distribution drive is part of the Trust’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative titled “Token of Love”, which focuses on promoting education through both material support and technological empowerment.

Dr. Harbaksh Singh, President of the Amrit Charitable Trust, emphasized the importance of nurturing a competitive and aspirational environment among students.

“We want students to aspire, to look at their peers and feel motivated—‘My classmate got a school bag and stationery kit; I want to do well too,’” said Dr. Singh. “This small gesture is a token of love, meant to inspire ambition and curiosity.”

The event also highlighted the importance of smart classrooms and digital learning. Special mention was made of the headmaster of Kahlil School, who has taken the lead in introducing digital teaching methods.

“We want every child to know what a smart classroom is, what technology can do. One student said he wants to become an army officer, another wants to be a doctor—such dreams start with exposure,” Dr. Singh added. He acknowledged the vital role of local educators and administrators, especially ZEO.

Dr. Singh also reiterated the Trust’s long-term commitment to digital education. “Every year, we aim to install a digital classroom in one school. We started in Kahlil, then Rathsuna, and next year we plan to set up one more in some other area in Tral. Over 10 years, our goal is to bring digital learning to every cluster.”

The Kochhar Foundation was recognized for its consistent support of these educational initiatives, especially in providing infrastructure and financial assistance.
