Nizamuddin Bhat Calls for Urgent Relief Measures Amid Flood Crisis in J&K

Bandipora, Aug 27: Senior Congress leader and MLA Bandipora Nizamuddin Bhat has expressed deep concern over the worsening flood situation in Jammu and Kashmir, as incessant rains, flash floods and landslides have caused heavy loss of life and property.

Bhat, described the tragic incidents across Jammu province and other affected areas as “painful and alarming,” and stressed that flood-like conditions are also being witnessed in parts of Kashmir valley.He urged the administration to intensify rescue and relief operations on an urgent basis.

Extending solidarity with the bereaved families, he prayed for the departed souls and wished a speedy recovery for the injured. He also appealed to people living in low-lying and vulnerable areas to remain cautious and strictly follow safety advisories.

He further impressed upon authorities to ensure timely relief distribution, adequate medical facilities and immediate restoration of essential services in the flood-affected areas of the Union Territory (Press Release).
