Handwara, September 20, 2025: Reaffirming its commitment to public safety and community preparedness, District Police Handwara today organised a Mega Awareness Programme on Disaster Management at Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Handwara.
The programme witnessed the participation of a large number of students and staff members, who were sensitised about the importance of disaster preparedness and effective response mechanisms.
During the session, experts delivered detailed training on various aspects of disaster management, including response during natural calamities, search and rescue operations, provision of medical aid, and emergency care techniques. The interactive session equipped students with essential knowledge and practical skills to face unforeseen emergencies with confidence.
The initiative received overwhelming appreciation from the institution, with teachers and students terming it highly beneficial and informative. They lauded the efforts of Handwara Police in organising such community-centric programmes that empower youth and enhance public safety.
