Ganderbal, Sept 20: A health camp under the SNSP Abhiyaan was on Saturday organised at Aam Saloora Block in Ganderbal. The camp was inaugurated by Abdul Rashid Sofi, Ex-ZEO and Chairman Jamia Masjid Saloora.
The camp provided comprehensive preventive and curative healthcare services to the general public as well as school children. The facilities included counselling sessions on health and hygiene, general physician consultations, paediatric screening under RBSK, gynaecological consultations for women, screening for non-communicable diseases, and free distribution of medicines.
Health statistics from the camp revealed:
Hemoglobin (Hb%) tests conducted: 71
Blood sugar tests: 44
Typhoid tests: 2
Sputum tests: 4
OPD cases attended: 165 (including 44 children aged 0–18 years)
Antenatal care (ANC) cases: 4
Immunizations administered: 18
BMO Ganderbal, Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Tantary, also visited the camp and personally monitored each section. In a symbolic gesture to encourage routine check-ups, he underwent a blood sugar test himself, which was found to be normal.
The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from the community and was widely acknowledged as a significant effort toward ensuring accessible healthcare and raising awareness at the grassroots level.
