Ganderbal, Nov 23(SM): Ganderbal Police on Sunday detained nine teenagers for performing dangerous stunts on the National Highway during a special drive against traffic violations at Model Naka Chinar, officials said.
According to police, the youths were intercepted while engaging in life-threatening stunt biking on the NHW. During the operation, authorities also seized five modified motorcycles, many of which had concealed or hidden rear registration number plates a violation of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Police said the detained teenagers will be released to their families after proper counselling and the execution of a good-behaviour bond to prevent recurrence of such activities.
Urging parents to remain alert, Ganderbal Police also appealed to the youth to avoid unsafe practices that pose serious risks to their lives and public safety.(SM)
