Awantipora, J&K: Congress leader Surinder Singh Channi has criticised the absence of an ambulance at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Awantipora, calling it a matter that concerns public welfare beyond political lines.
Speaking to media, Channi said that ensuring basic medical facilities is the responsibility of elected representatives. “If there is no ambulance in Awantipora, it should have been arranged immediately. It was the duty of the MLA to allocate ₹2 lakh or ₹4 lakh from his constituency fund to provide an ambulance,” he stated.
Channi stressed that the issue should not be reduced to political debates. “It is not just about politics. The necessary things are the duty of all of us together,” he said, adding that he would have prioritised Awantipora had he been the MLA. “If I was the MLA, I would have started from Awantipora,” he remarked.
