Pulwama, Press Release: KVK/ETC Malangpora, Pulwama in collaboration with the Mountain Research Centre for Sheep & Goat (MRCSG), Shuhama, Ganderbal organized a program Scientists-Sheep breeders meet. The meet provided an effective platform for interaction between scientists and sheep breeders, focusing on scientific sheep and goat rearing practices, breed improvement, health management, nutrition, disease prevention, and livelihood enhancement.
The programme was graced by the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, along with the Director Extension, SKUAST-Kashmir, Director Sheep Husbandry, District Sheep Officer, Pulwama, Senior Scientist and Head, MRCS&G, Shuhama, Ganderbal, officers from various line departments, scientists of KVK, and more than 200 participants, including sheep breeders and farmers from different areas of the district.
Prof. & Head, KVK/ETC Pulwama, Dr. Javeed Ahmad Mugloo formally welcomed the dignitaries and participants and briefed the gathering on the objectives and significance of the programme.
During his address, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, emphasized the importance of strengthening farmer–scientist linkages and highlighted the role of scientific interventions, research, and extension services in enhancing productivity and sustainability in the sheep and goat sector of the region.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Ajaz Ahmad Ganie, Scientist (Animal Science), KVK Pulwama, who expressed sincere gratitude to all the dignitaries, collaborating institutions, and participants for their active involvement and support, which significantly contributed to the success of the event.
