Srinagar, April 30: Kashmir Medical College and Hospital (KMC&H) Sempora has achieved a significant milestone by successfully performing advanced head and neck procedures, marking a major step forward in specialized surgical care within Jammu and Kashmir’s healthcare landscape.
KMCH achieved the groundbreaking milestone by successfully performing a Sistrunk operation and a thyroglossal cyst removal—both highly intricate procedures—using world-class precision and cutting-edge equipment, marking a significant leap in its specialized surgical capabilities. Both the patients are safe, recovering, and on the path to full health.
Both procedures fall under advanced head and neck surgery and reflect strong surgical capability, especially when done with precision and modern equipment.
The historic milestone has been achieved under the supervision of Managing Director, KMCH, Tausif Ahmad; Executive Director, Insha Qazi; Principal/Dean KMCH, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Khan with the surgical support of the super specialist doctors.
Managing Director, KMCH, Tausif Ahmad said this is a historic day for the Kashmir Medical College and Hospital as it marks a major leap forward as it continues to lead in innovative, specialized care.
“Equipped with modern technology and skilled expertise, the hospital continues to expand its capabilities in delivering high-quality, patient-centered treatment,” he said.
Executive Director, Insha Qazi said the successful conduct of these advanced procedures reflects KMCH’s growing strength in delivering complex surgical care and its commitment to excellence.
Principal/Dean KMCH, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Khan said previously, KMCH conducted only minor surgical procedures, but it has successfully performed operations under general anaesthesia which is a great achievement.
