SRINAGAR, MAY 04: In a major push to strengthen emergency healthcare delivery in the Valley, Paras Health Srinagar has launched its advanced Emergency Response (ER) services, integrating rapid-response systems, cutting-edge medical technology, and highly trained clinical teams.

The initiative is aimed at elevating the standard of critical care and aligning the hospital’s emergency services with international benchmarks. A key focus of the upgrade is ensuring faster medical intervention during the critical “golden hour” — the immediate period following a medical emergency when timely care can significantly improve survival outcomes.

Speaking on the development, Facility Director Dr Murtuza Habib emphasized the importance of robust emergency infrastructure, stating that the move reflects the hospital’s commitment to delivering prompt and high-quality care to critically ill patients.

Senior Consultant and Head of Emergency Response, Dr Wasil Rasool Sheikh, highlighted the clinical significance of the upgrade. “With the introduction of advanced ER services, we are better equipped to manage complex emergencies with speed and precision, ensuring patients receive the right care at the right time,” he said.

Dr. Sheikh, who holds an MBBS and MEM from Northwell Health and the Global Academy of Emergency Medicine, underscored the importance of timely intervention during the “golden hour,” noting that it requires a highly responsive and coordinated emergency team to save lives.

Medical Superintendent Dr Shafat Ahmad Kennu said the enhanced services would have a broader impact on healthcare delivery in the region. “A strong and efficient ER system is crucial for improving patient outcomes and ensuring timely care,” he noted.

Echoing similar views, Consultant in the Department of Emergency, Dr Yasir Allaqaband, stressed the importance of preparedness and coordination. “The strengthened ER system ensures seamless collaboration across specialties, enabling faster and more effective responses to critical cases,” he said.

The launch marks a significant milestone for Paras Health Srinagar, reinforcing its position as a leading healthcare provider in the region. By prioritizing rapid response, clinical excellence, and patient-centric care, the hospital aims to set a new benchmark in emergency medical services (PRESS RELEASE).
