Srinagar: On the occasion of world biodiversity day, Forest Department Chadora in collaboration with one world Aid Trust organized a biodiversity awareness and plantation programme at Branwar, Budgam.
The programme conducted under the DFO Budgam along with Range Officer and officials including Forester Jahangeer Ahmad, Bilal Ahmad (Forester), Mohd Ramzan (Forest Guard), Mohd Younus (Forest Guard), and Faizan Rasheed, member of One World Aid Trust.
During the event, Forest Department officials emphasized the urgent need to actively repair and restore degraded ecosystems in order to preserve biodiversity, strengthen carbon sinks, and protect the natural balance of the environment. They stressed that conservation is not only the responsibility of the government but also requires active participation from society and local communities.
Executive members of One World Aid Trust, Irfan Ramzan and Faisal Bilal, highlighted the importance of conservation, awareness, and the sustainable use of natural resources. They urged the government and society to take concrete steps toward protecting and promoting biodiversity, stating that humans are an integral part of the ecosystem and must avoid actions that harm nature and ecological balance.
The organizers concluded with a collective call to action, urging people to stop exploiting nature and instead contribute towards protecting it, so that future generations inherit a world rich in life, greenery, and natural beauty.
