Dr. Singh said that the decision is a significant step towards promoting eco-tourism and sustainable tourism activities in the scenic Shikargah area. He added that he has been consistently pursuing the matter with the concerned authorities for the last three years and is pleased that the project has finally moved towards implementation.

He expressed hope that, along with the renovation works, the proposed outsourcing and proper management of these huts will attract more visitors and boost local employment opportunities. According to Dr. Singh, the project will contribute significantly to the economic and tourism development of Tral and its adjoining areas.

Dr. Singh further stated that several other locations in Tral, including Panner Dam, Naristan, Aripal, Nagberan, and other picturesque destinations, possess immense tourism potential. He noted that some of these sites have already been identified and approved by the Tourism Department for development and promotion.

Highlighting the need for a focused tourism strategy, Dr. Singh urged the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir and the Hon’ble Chief Minister to consider establishing a Tourism Development Authority for Tral. He said that such an authority would ensure planned development, better infrastructure, and effective promotion of the region’s rich natural and ecological attractions.

Dr. Singh also expressed his appreciation to the Wildlife Department for allocating ₹17 lakh for the development of eco-parks at Shikargah, stating that the initiative will further strengthen eco-tourism infrastructure and enhance the visitor experience.

He reiterated his commitment to continue working for the development of tourism and infrastructure in Tral and thanked all departments and stakeholders involved in making these projects a reality.
