Tral, June 17: A man was injured after being attacked by a wild bear in the Soinad area of Lam Tral on Wednesday.
The injured has been identified as Zubair Ahmad Gojar, son of Mohd Sultan Gojar and a resident of Deedarpora Soinad, Lam Tral.
According to locals, the incident occurred while Zubair was travelling near a nallah (stream) when a wild bear allegedly emerged from a nearby segregation shed and attacked him. He sustained injuries and was shifted to Sub-District Hospital Tral for treatment. He was later reportedly referred to Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment.
Following the incident, local residents demanded the shifting of the segregation shed from the area, alleging that the bear emerged from its vicinity. They expressed concern over public safety and urged the authorities to take immediate action to prevent such incidents in the future.
