PULWAMA JUNE 21: The Enforcement Squad of the Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) Pulwama, the other day, conducted a vehicle inspection drive aimed at improving road safety and ensuring adherence to traffic regulations. This drive was carried out under the directives of the Secretary of Transport Avny Lavasa (IAS) and the Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan (JKAS).
During the course of the day, officials inspected more than 85 vehicles across Pulwama. As a result of these checks, 31 e-challans were issued to motorists for various traffic violations. Furthermore, the department has recommended the suspension of two driving licenses and the blacklisting of two vehicles due to non-compliance with the Motor Vehicles Act. The total penalty amount expected to be realized from these enforcement actions is Rs. 44,500.
In addition to the issuance of penalties, officials briefed motorists on the importance of following the established rules and regulations under the Motor Vehicles Act. The department has stated that these enforcement efforts will continue on a regular basis to ensure road safety. Motorists are advised to follow all traffic regulations to prevent penalties and contribute to safer transit conditions for the general public.
