Srinagar, Sep 24: Kashmir Medical College (KMC), Sempora, has announced free surgical treatment for cancer patients for a limited period during its foundation month, starting from Monday, September 28.
Under the initiative, cancer patients will be provided free surgical treatment as part of the institution’s “Together Against Cancer” campaign, aimed at promoting timely treatment, improving outcomes and supporting better quality of life for patients.
The free surgical services will cover a range of cancers, including stomach, oesophageal, colon, pancreatic, liver, biliary tract, breast and thyroid cancers. Surgical treatment will also be available for adrenal tumours and other solid tumours.
KMC said the initiative is supported by an experienced surgical team, modern operation theatres and critical-care facilities. The institution has adopted a multidisciplinary approach to cancer management, with coordination among surgical, oncology, radiology, pathology and supportive-care teams for comprehensive treatment planning.
The college has also highlighted its advanced surgical infrastructure, including modern operation theatres, dedicated ICU facilities and post-operative care support to ensure safe and effective treatment.
The initiative places emphasis on patient-centred care, with patients receiving specialised treatment along with appropriate peri-operative, follow-up and rehabilitation support.
KMC said the initiative reflects its commitment to making specialised cancer surgery more accessible and affordable, while encouraging patients to seek timely diagnosis and treatment.
The college has invited eligible cancer patients to register and avail themselves of the free surgical treatment during the limited-period initiative.
