Sometimes, I wonder why people become so cruel to a girl after marriage. She leaves her parents’ home with a heart full of dreams, trusting that her new family will love and respect her. She leaves behind her mother’s care, her father’s protection, and the home where she grew up. But what happens when the home she enters with hope becomes a place of tears and suffering? Why do people forget that she is also someone’s beloved daughter, someone’s pride, and someone’s whole world?

Recently, I came to know about a painful situation where a girl has reportedly not eaten for the last ten days because of the torture she is facing from her husband’s family. Even her husband is not taking proper care of her. Just imagine the pain of her parents, especially her mother, who once could not see her daughter hungry even for a few hours. How would a father feel knowing that the daughter he sent away with prayers and blessings is suffering in another home? Why do you marry someone’s daughter if you cannot give her love, respect, and peace?

Marriage is not a punishment, and a daughter-in-law is not a servant who must silently accept every insult and every act of cruelty. A husband does not have to choose between his wife and his parents, but he must have the courage to stand against what is wrong. Every girl deserves a home where she feels safe, a husband who cares about her, and a family that understands her feelings. We spend so much money celebrating weddings, but what is the value of a beautiful wedding if the bride spends her married life crying? A girl’s silence does not always mean she is happy. Sometimes, she is hiding her pain just to protect her parents from worry.

Every girl is someone’s queen daughter, someone’s happiness, and someone’s hope. Her value does not decrease after marriage, and her dignity should never be sacrificed to protect society’s reputation. Before hurting your daughter-in-law, imagine your own daughter in her place. Before making her mother cry, imagine your own mother suffering the same pain. Please remember that marriage should bring two lives closer, not destroy one person’s happiness. Do not become the reason someone’s daughter loses her smile. If you cannot give her happiness, at least do not take away her peace.
