Awantipora, 10 December: In a continued effort to curb the drug menace, Awantipora Police today seized a four-wheeler valued at approximately Rs 3.30 Lacs, belonging to notorious drug peddler Jitender Singh, son of Nirmal Singh, resident of Gamraj, Tral. The vehicle was seized under section 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985, after it was identified as illegally acquired property through illicit drug trafficking.
The operation was led by SHO Police Station Tral, Inspector Tanveer Jahangir, under the supervision of SDPO Tral. The seizure followed an inquiry revealing that the vehicle was acquired through profits from the trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
Jitender Singh is already implicated in multiple drug-related cases, including:
1. FIR No. 28/2024 under the NDPS Act at PS Tral
2. FIR No. 139/2021 under the NDPS Act at PS Awantipora
The operation is a part of Awantipora Police’s ongoing commitment to combat drug-related crimes.
