The announcement was met with enthusiasm by party leaders and workers, who have welcomed the decision and expressed confidence in Rather’s leadership abilities. Many believe that his experience in political and social work, along with his dedication to public service, will help in addressing local concerns and enhancing the party’s outreach at the grassroots level.

Party insiders suggest that Rather’s appointment comes as part of BJP’s broader strategy to consolidate support in Kashmir, particularly in Ganderbal, where the party has been working to strengthen its foothold. His leadership is expected to mobilize workers, engage with local communities, and address developmental issues that are crucial to the people of the district.

Rather, in his initial statement after the appointment, thanked the party’s central and state leadership for entrusting him with this responsibility. He reiterated his commitment to working for the welfare of the people of Ganderbal and ensuring that BJP’s policies and programs reach every corner of the district.

With this new appointment, the BJP hopes to bolster its presence in Ganderbal and further its mission of political expansion and governance in the region (SM).
