International Day of Peace celebrated in Pulwama to Promote Peace, Harmony and Brotherhood

Pulwama, (Press Release): To mark the International Day of Peace, the National Youth Peace Foundation, in collaboration with the District Administration Pulwama and District Police Pulwama, organized a special programme aimed at highlighting the significance of peace and its far-reaching social benefits.

The event was graced by Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr. Mohammad Ashraf, as the Chief Guest, while SSP Pulwama, PD Nitya, attended as Guest of Honour. The programme also witnessed the presence of President of the Peace Foundation, Musadiq Riyaz, along with prominent citizens, social activists, and a large gathering of students.

Speakers on the occasion stressed that peace is the foundation of every prosperous society and a prerequisite for development and stability. They urged the youth to channel their energy into constructive activities that nurture harmony and brotherhood.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mohammad Ashraf who was chief guest on the occasion emphasized that peace is an essential element for progress in any society, calling upon the younger generation to play a leading role in promoting unity and social cohesion.

SSP PD Nitya, in her remarks, underlined that maintaining peace and order is a collective responsibility, adding that the youth hold a vital role in building a congenial and peaceful environment.

Adding a cultural flavour to the programme, students from different schools presented colourful performances, conveying messages of peace and unity through their art. A pledge ceremony was also held, during which participants vowed to uphold harmony and brotherhood in society.

In the concluding session, social activists, talented performers, and media personnel were felicitated with certificate of aperciations for their contributions to promoting peace and community welfare.
