Srinagar | December 23 | By Ashiq Khanday: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Kashmir, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Association of Social Workers (JKASW), organized a grand day-long celebration and certificate distribution ceremony. The event was held to honor and appreciate the tireless efforts of District Nodal Officers (DNOs) and Master Resource Persons who successfully facilitated the training of 3,000 ‘Ayas’ (caregivers) across all ten districts of the Kashmir Valley.

The ceremony was presided over by Senior Academic Officer Sheikh Gulzar Ahmad, faculty member Shabir Ahmad Shabir, JKASW Executive Director Ashfaq Ahmad Mattoo, and Senior Consultant Ms. Ambreen Bashir. The event served as a platform to recognize the district-level contributions that led to the successful completion of training for 3,000 caregivers in the region.

The event saw participation from 10 District Nodal Officers and 5 District Resource Persons from each district. The primary objective of the gathering was to foster mutual cooperation for future training programs and to pave the way for the effective implementation of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). All participants were presented with certificates of appreciation for their outstanding performance.

Highlighting the purpose of the program, SCERT Senior Academic Officer Sheikh Gulzar Ahmad stated, “The successful training of 3,000 ‘Ayas’ was only possible due to the diligence and commitment of the respective DIETs, DNOs, and Resource Persons.” He added that such ceremonies would further strengthen the resolve and collaboration required for future initiatives.

He further emphasized that involving non-governmental organizations like JKASW is crucial for the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), as ECCE remains a central pillar of the policy.

Executive Director of JKASW, Mr. Ashfaq Ahmad Mattoo, highlighted the key role NGOs play in ECCE initiatives. He expressed hope for continued support from SCERT in the future and assured that his organization would remain committed to providing every possible assistance to improve the educational ecosystem.
