Srinagar: Senior Congress leader Surinder Singh Channi has expressed deep concern over the massive damage caused by the severe hailstorm in different villages of Tral constituency.
He said that the natural calamity has badly affected orchards, fruit crops, agricultural land, and the livelihood of hundreds of families. “Farmers and orchardists have suffered huge losses due to the heavy hailstorm, and the government cannot remain a silent spectator at this critical time,” he stated.
Surinder Singh Channi strongly urged the administration to immediately constitute special teams for on-ground assessment of the affected areas and ensure proper compensation and relief for the victims without delay.
He further said that the people of Tral are already facing economic hardships, and such devastation has added to their sufferings. “The government must act swiftly, provide financial assistance, and support the affected families so that they can recover from this disaster,” he added.
