Ganderbal 22 July (SM): In a major security operation aimed at maintaining peace and safeguarding public order, Ganderbal Police conducted coordinated raids at multiple locations across the district and detained more than 100 suspected Over Ground Workers (OGWs) for questioning and verification.
The operation was launched on the basis of specific intelligence inputs and a detailed assessment of prevailing security concerns. Multiple police teams carried out simultaneous raids with the objective of identifying and disrupting support networks allegedly linked to anti-national and terrorist activities.
The detained individuals are being questioned in accordance with the law to ascertain their possible involvement, if any, in activities prejudicial to the security of the Union Territory.
The operation is part of Ganderbal Police’s continued efforts to identify, disrupt and dismantle terror-support structures while ensuring the safety and security of the public.
Ganderbal Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace, preserving communal harmony and ensuring a secure environment for all citizens. It said stringent action would continue against individuals found involved in activities threatening public order or national security, strictly in accordance with the law.(SM)
