SRINAGAR, July 23:- As incessant downpours trigger a mounting flood like crisis across Jammu and Kashmir, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State General Secretary Anwar Khan has issued a stern warning, urging the government and local administration to remain completely on their toes to avert widespread disaster. With meteorological forecasts predicting continued heavy rainfall and rivers threatening to breach danger marks, Khan emphasised that proactive intervention is non-negotiable.

Highlighting the gravity of the deteriorating weather conditions, Khan stressed that administrative machinery cannot afford complacency. He called for immediate, ground level readiness across all vulnerable districts. “The administration needs to be on their toes. Every precautionary step must be taken right now to ensure that any potential unfortunate incident is averted,” Khan stated, addressing to media.

He urgently directed authorities to identify high risk zones and execute immediate evacuations. Families residing near overflowing streams, low lying tracts, and landslide prone hill corridors must be safely relocated to secure designated shelters before conditions worsen. Furthermore, he advised citizens living in dangerous areas to exercise extreme caution and cooperate fully with emergency response teams.

Expanding the scope of relief efforts, Khan issued a passionate appeal to his party (BJP) workers, urging them to rise to the occasion and step forward voluntarily. He instructed Karyakartas to remain on high alert and establish grassroots self help groups to assist stranded citizens during this hour of despair. “Our workers must be vigilant and proactive on the ground. Form local self-help networks and ensure that every possible assistance reaches those trapped or affected by the calamity,” Khan exhorted his party cadre.

Beyond immediate rescue and volunteer driven grassroots aid, the BJP leader turned his focus toward the aftermath, demanding robust accountability for infrastructure safety and citizen welfare. He insisted that the government take immediate stock of ongoing property damage, agricultural losses, and infrastructure breakdowns caused by the rising waters.

Khan strongly asserted that comprehensive, transparent, and prompt rehabilitation measures must be rolled out for all flood affected families. Calling for zero bureaucratic delays in compensation and relief distribution, he maintained that safeguarding civilian lives and restoring normalcy must remain the absolute priority for the state machinery during this critical hour.
