Tral, 14 Oct: Senior PDP leader and former minister Naeem Akhtar, accompanied by MLA Pulwama Waheed Rehman Para, visited the home of Rafiq Ahmad Naik, the PDP candidate who secured victory in the recent elections for the Tral seat. The leaders were warmly received by the Naik and other PDP workers during their visit.
While talking to the media, Akhtar emphasized the need for a formal assessment of the PDP’s performance in the recent assembly elections to identify areas of weakness.
He also highlighted the fragmentation of the PDP since 2019, noting that this issue is well recognized by the public.
Earlier in the assembly elections, the PDP managed to win only three seats across the entire Jammu and Kashmir. The successful candidates included Waheed Ur Rehman Para in Pulwama, Rafiq Ahmad Naik in Tral, and Fayaz Ahmad Mir in Kupwara.
