A senior official from KPDCL Kulgam told that 155 electric transformers got damaged due to overload in last 40 days in Kulgam district.

“In November month we have received 95 electric damaged transformers and repaired them on time, but ironically, in first 10 days of December we have received 60 damaged transformers out which 50 transformers had been already repaired, the main reason for the damage to DTs is overloading and using crude heating gadgets,” the official said.

“It is a only district where such workshop is operating as the workshop has four sub-divisions DH Pora, Yaripora, Qazigund and Kulgam”, he added.

“Issuing an appeal, the official asked the consumers to use electricity judiciously so that transformers are protected from damage and subsequent power outages.”
