BASHARAT RASHID

Tral, December 29: Following the recent snowfall, MLA Tral, Rafiq Ahmad Naik, held a crucial meeting with key officials, including Tehsildar Tral Imran Ahmad and Tehsildar Aripal, to assess the situation and ensure prompt action for public welfare. The meeting focused on clearing snow from local roads and addressing public grievances.

On the occasion, Naik appreciated the efforts of the field officers, noting that 90% of the roads had already been cleared. “Our machinery was fully equipped, and we managed to clear most of the roads, but 10% remain difficult due to inaccessible paths,” he said. He assured that alternative methods would be taken to clear the remaining roads.

The MLA appealed to the public to cooperate with local authorities, including the R&B, mechanical, electricity, and water departments. He emphasized that while the administration was working tirelessly, cooperation from people was also crucial in resolving local issues.

“I urge the people to help by clearing the snow in front of their homes. I, too, have cleaned the path outside my house,” Naik said, adding that such efforts would not only ease the problem but also benefit individuals’ health.

Naik also lauded the ongoing work of essential services, including hospitals, food supplies, and ambulances, which continued to function smoothly despite the challenges. “I am fully satisfied with the efforts of the departments,” he stated.

Rafiq Ahmad Naik further said that he has spoken with the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and requested additional vehicles to improve accessibility.
