Traffic Police hold road safety awareness drive in Qazigund 

Drive aimed to to raise awareness about the importance of road safety measures and strict adherence to traffic rules: DySP Aslam; Urges parents not allow minors to drive

Qazigund (Kulgam) Jan 20: The Traffic Police Kulgam on Monday organized a road safety awareness programme in Qazigund town as part of National Road Safety Month 2025.

The event saw active participation from drivers, shopkeepers, students, and passengers, officers including DySP traffic, Mohd Aslam, DTI Lalit Sharma, and others officials of traffic department attended the event, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in enhancing road safety. Their presence served as a source of inspiration for the participants, highlighting the collective responsibility in creating safer road environments.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic Kulgam Mohd Aslam told that “The primary goal of the drive was to raise awareness about the importance of road safety measures and strict adherence to traffic rules. adding that similar awareness drives will be held regularly to encourage safe practices on the roads.

He urged all parents to refrain from giving bikes or scooters to your children, especially minors and ensure that traffic rules are strictly followed to prevent accidents

Participants highlighted the need for safe driving practices to reduce road accidents and fatalities.The programme received appreciation from the public for its focus on promoting responsible driving.
