Ganderbal, Feb 21(SM): In a significant crackdown on traffic violations, the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Ganderbal seized 11 vehicles during a surprise checking operation conducted on Friday. The drive was carried out under the supervision of the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), with a team led by MVD Inspector Manzoor Qureshi.
According to officials, the operation was aimed at curbing violations of traffic rules and ensuring strict enforcement of road safety measures. The seized vehicles included three Mini buses .two Tata Mobiles, two Mini pickup trucks, and four Autos. Many of these vehicles were found operating without valid documents, violating permit conditions, or flouting other regulatory norms.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to maintaining order on the roads and have urged vehicle owners and drivers to strictly comply with traffic regulations to avoid legal consequences. Officials warned that such enforcement drives would continue in the coming days as part of sustained efforts to improve traffic discipline and enhance road safety across Ganderbal.
Transport authorities have also appealed to the general public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report any instances of reckless or illegal driving. They emphasized that adherence to traffic laws is essential for reducing accidents and ensuring the safety of commuters(SM).
