DC Pulwama chairs DLC meeting for forest demarcation and boundary pillar installation

Pulwama, April 24: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, today chaired the maiden meeting of the District Level Committee (DLC) for demarcation of forest land, installation of boundary pillars, and measures aimed at preservation, protection and making Forest encumbrance free in the district.

During the meeting, various issues regarding forest land, status of installation of boundary pillars & encroachments removal procedures and action plan were discussed .

The DC reviewed the progress of demarcation works and installation of boundary pillars across forest areas in the district and took stock of ongoing efforts aimed at safeguarding forest land.

Emphasizing the importance of preserving forest resources, the DC called for close inter-departmental coordination among Revenue, Forest, and Wildlife departments to ensure smooth and effective implementation of the process on the ground.

Officers of revenue department were directed to ensure complete coordination and cooperation for completion of exercise.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Divisional Forest Officer Awantipora; Tehsildars of Rajpora, Tral and Aripal, and officials from Forest and Wildlife Departments.
