Ganderbal: A medical shop in the Peerpora Kachan area of Ganderbal district was sealed on Thursday by the Drug Control Department following the circulation of a viral social media post alleging the sale of expired medicines.
Acting swiftly, a team of drug control officers inspected the premises and found violations of regulatory norms. The shop was immediately closed, and a notice was issued under Section 22D of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
The move has been praised as a necessary step to protect public health and ensure that only genuine and safe medicines are available in the market. Authorities have reiterated the importance of strict monitoring of medical shops to prevent such incidents in the future.
