Humhama, Kashmir | October 11: A grand Passing Out Parade and Attestation Ceremony was held today at the Subsidiary Training Centre (STC), Border Security Force (BSF), Humhama, marking the formal induction of 167 Recruit Constables (Tradesmen) of Batch No. 44 into the force.
Recruits hailing from various states across India proudly took their first step in service to the nation as “Seema Praharis” in a ceremony that was both inspiring and full of patriotic fervour.
The event was graced by Shri Solomon Yash Kumar Minz (IPS), Inspector General, STC Kashmir, BSF, who attended as the Chief Guest. He was warmly received by Shri Yoginder Agarwal, Commandant CI, STC Kashmir, BSF. The IG reviewed and inspected the grand parade, which was marked by impeccable coordination, discipline, and military precision.
“BSF: The First Line of Defence”
In his address, IG Minz highlighted the valour and unwavering commitment of the BSF, describing it as the “first line of defence” that not only guards the nation’s borders with vigilance but also plays a crucial role in combating foreign-sponsored terrorism and internal militancy.
He emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation in tackling cross-border threats such as terrorism and narco-trafficking, stating that the BSF is fully equipped and prepared to counter these challenges with an efficient response mechanism.
Honouring the Recruits
IG Minz commended the recruits for their dedication and applauded their self-confidence and parade performance. He lauded their decision to join the BSF and urged them to serve the nation with courage, discipline, and enthusiasm.
He also acknowledged the tireless efforts of the training staff at STC Kashmir, who have successfully transformed raw youth into disciplined, well-trained jawans ready to uphold the core values of the force.
Medal Distribution & Recognition
The Chief Guest presented medals and trophies to outstanding recruits who excelled in various training disciplines, both indoor and outdoor. The parade of Batch No. 44 was commanded by Recruit Constable/Barber Amit Chandel of “B” Company.

During the 44-week training programme, the recruits were rigorously trained in weapon handling, firing techniques, physical fitness, law, drill, and border management.
