Srinagar, J&K: In a recent meeting, core committee members of the National Child Development Council (NCDC) issued a resolution addressing the growing concern of waste management, particularly the disposal of waste by children. The members expressed alarm over the increasing habit of throwing wrappers and bottles on roadsides and called for urgent awareness campaigns to combat this issue.
The core committee members emphasized the importance of creating designated dumping sites to encourage proper waste disposal. One member pointed out the need for a collective effort to discourage roadside littering and to educate the public on the significance of recycling waste products.
Another member highlighted the need for reducing plastic production, suggesting that less plastic would contribute to a more sustainable and natural living environment.
The NCDC, a self-governing national organization dedicated to advancing women’s rights and ensuring access to quality education for children across India, continues to advocate for initiatives that promote environmental sustainability.
