Block Diwas held at Townhall Devsar, BDO presides over grievances redressal camp

Main objective of ‘Block Diwas’ is to gain firsthand appraisal of important grassroots-level issues which enable the administration to understand the multifaceted problems faced by the general public and improving the public service delivery mechanism, says BDO Arif

Devsar (Kulgam), Nov 20: The District Administration Kulgam on Wednesday organized Block Diwas at Townhall Devsar to take appraisal of the public issues, grievances and demands.

Block Development Officer (BDO) Devsar Arif Ayaz Dar presided over grievance redressal camp. The grievance redressal programme witnessed participation of people from different areas.

All the concerned officers of different departments remained available for people and listened to issues and grievances for early redressal during the grievance redressal camp.

On the occasion, officers on the spot responded to the queries and demands of people pertaining to their departments.

Agriculture extension Assistant Devsar, Firdoos Ahmad Rather highlighted the different agriculture schemes including Pradhan mantri fasal bima yojana (PMFBY), Crop insurance for Mustard and Daksh Kissan during the block Divas for welfare of general public.

Officers and heads of departments also responded to the queries and grievances of the people pertaining to their departments and intimated people about various welfare schemes and ongoing developmental projects.

Talking to the reporters on the sideline of the camp, BDO said that main objective of this Block Diwas is to gain a firsthand appraisal of important grassroots-level issues.

He stated that such platforms enable the district administration to understand the multifaceted problems faced by the general public.

These outreach camps facilitate bringing governance to the doorstep of the public, thus improving the public service delivery mechanism.
