Pulwama: Salreen Kour, a student of Little Angels Academy Tral and a budding author from Kashmir, has made her literary debut with the publication of her first poetry collection, Articulate Scars, featuring 41 poems exploring the depths of human emotions and experiences.
Salreen’s journey with Articulate Scars began on March 6, 2026, as a personal writing project that gradually evolved into a collection of 41 poems. The book explores various themes, including silence, identity, relationships, faith, self-discovery, growing up and the unspoken struggles that often remain unnoticed or unheard.
For Salreen, writing has always been more than putting words on paper. It has served as a medium to express emotions, thoughts and experiences that are sometimes difficult to communicate through ordinary conversation.
The process of writing and publishing the book involved continuous learning, uncertainty, numerous revisions and excitement. From preparing the initial drafts to finally holding her own published book, every stage of the journey remained special and memorable for the young author.
The collection was officially published on September 28, 2026. It seeks to transform silence into expression, giving words to emotions that often remain buried beneath the surface. Through her poetry, Salreen explores the complexities of human life, where vulnerability meets expression and every scar carries a story of its own.
Despite being a student, Salreen has demonstrated that age should never become a barrier to pursuing one’s passion. Her literary journey has taught her the importance of patience, consistency and confidence in her own work.
Articulate Scars is now available on Amazon, Flipkart and the official platform of Blue Rose Publishers.
Salreen hopes to continue exploring the world of literature and give many more stories, emotions and unheard experiences a voice through her writing.
